Lazy and still want a clean home? Here’s how – and why it’ll be good for your health…

Cleaning your home (or office) can feel like a chore, especially when it needs to be done weekly to maintain that fresh, clean look we all admire in magazines. It's even harder to fit in if we lead busy lives or are simply too lazy to do it ourselves! However, it can also affect your health, but more on that later.

Cleaner using duster to clean

Fortunately, there's a way to achieve cleanliness with minimal effort and expense. Okay, it may not result in the picture-perfect homes you see in magazines, but you'll still get some noticeable results. How? The feather duster! If you've ever noticed, the number one thing that makes a home look unclean is dust. It naturally accumulates due to the way homes are constructed, the weather (especially in cold regions like the UK, where we tend to keep our windows closed more often), and our lifestyles.

Ideally, you should follow a four-step process: dusting, wiping, vacuuming, and mopping – in that order. But the lazy way to do it yourself is to simply dust everything once a week. If the dust is heavy, you may also need to vacuum to ensure it doesn’t just settle on the floor. Just remember to open your windows while dusting. Don’t forget the bit behind the radiators and between the door and door frames. Initially, you may encounter heavy dusting in your home, in which case, wearing a mask is advisable (we understand not everyone can wear a mask, but it'll pay dividends for your health if you can).

Speaking of health, dust can cause irritation to the lungs, nasal passages, eyes, and sinuses, and in extreme cases, it can even lead to skin conditions. So, not only will your home appear cleaner, but it will also create a healthier environment for you and your family.

Simply pick up the feather duster, open the windows, and give the whole home a good dusting once a week. Or, pick up the phone and see what we can offer to help you achieve that pristine look and feel for your home.
